99 fives are a special issue. They are frequently made much better than 98s which would be a substitute for a 18th century gold five. They are also quite a bit scarcer. This one is indeed Well made with nice strike. I haven’t had one in a while and overall the pops are quite low. A 40-50k issue in low mint state grades.
